Forum to Introduce Temple Terrace Candidates

Update (July 9): The Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club is asking candidates and thoses who plan to attend the forum to respect its dress code. That means no T-shirts, tank tops, gym shorts, cutoffs or flip flops.

Update (July 3): City Council candidate Edward Vance has confirmed his attendance at the forum.

You’ll have your chance to ask July 10 at a organized by the Temple Terrace Bar Association. The event will take place at the at 6:30 p.m.

Mayoral candidates and and City Council candidates Mary Jane Neale and will be there, according to Temple Drummond, president of the association. Edward Vance is also running for city council, however, he has not yet confirmed his attendance.

This is the first year that the Bar Association is organizing such a forum, Drummond said.

“We had gotten a couple of inquiries by candidates wanting to speak at our bar meetings,” he explained.

The group didn’t want to endorse a particular candidate, so it decided to host them all.

Each candidate will get five to six minutes to talk about themselves and the issues they think are important to Temple Terrace, Drummond said. Then, those in the audience will be invited to ask questions of the candidates.

“Hopefully, we’ll get good participation from the public,” he said.

The Temple Terrace Bar Association is a group for Temple Terrace lawyers that meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club. For more information, visit the Temple Terrace Bar Association online.
