King High School Class of 1972 Plans Reunion

After 40 years, 1972 graduates are invited to a celebration in October.


From the King High School Class of 1972:

The  Class of 1972 will celebrate its 40th reunion this fall with three days of fellowship and fun, Oct. 19-21.

The weekend kicks off Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. with a welcome reception, dinner buffet and cash bar at the where classmates will reconnect poolside. Tropical casual attire is recommended. will provide a free shuttle to and from the country club.

On Saturday, Oct. 20, dinner, dancing and door prizes are on the agenda beginning at 7 p.m. at Embassy Suites USF. During dinner, class president Basil Powell will perform with his Jazz Trio. After dinner, local celebrity DJ Marvelous Marvin will spin discs for dancing. Attire is business casual to dressy.

The weekend wraps up Sunday, Oct. 21, with a “bring your own food and beverage” picnic at . The afternoon will be spent relaxing with classmates under the oak trees. No ticket required—just pay $2 to park, and meet us at pavilion No. 10.

For out-of-town alumni, the reunion committee has negotiated a special price with Embassy Suites. Call 813-977-7066 or 1-800-EMBASSY before Sept. 19. Space is limited, so classmates should make reservations as soon as possible and be sure to mention “KHS Class of 1972” to get the KHS rate.
