Local Law Enforcement Officer Graduates From FBI National Academy

TEMPLE TERRACE, FL β€” Jacob Carlisle, a Temple Terrace Police Department captain, graduated from the 285th session of the FBI National Academy. The ceremony took place last week at the National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Carlisle is the second officer in department history to complete this prestigious program. Nationally, fewer than one percent of officers attend the program.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers 10 weeks of advanced communication, leadership and fitness training. Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend. On average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

The 285th session consisted of 247 law enforcement officers from 47 states and the District of Columbia. The class included members of law enforcement agencies from 28 countries, four military organizations and five federal civilian organizations.

"The Temple Terrace Police Department is incredibly proud to have one of our finest and most highly trained officers in this year's graduating class of the 285th FBI National Academy," said Police Chief Kenneth Albano. "The knowledge and experience that Capt. Carlisle acquired as a result of attending this prestigious command officer training will be a tremendous benefit to him, our agency and the citizens of Temple Terrace throughout the duration of his career."

Carlisle started his career with Temple Terrace Police Department in 2001. Prior to coming to TTPD, Carlisle was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Carlisle has a master of science in criminal justice with concentration in critical incident management from Saint Leo University.
