UPDATE: Police Searching for Violent ATM Robbers

Two suspects are sought in the 3-incident crime spree at Bank of America.

Update: The 2008 black cherry Mazda CX-7 that was stolen June 25 has been recovered. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is helping in this case. Anyone with any information on the suspects can call the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200. The is investigating a violent crime spree involving three incidents this month at a drive-through ATM at the located at 9385 N. 56th St.

The latest incident occurred Monday at 12:30 a.m. when two armed men approached the victim in the bank’s parking lot and ordered him to remove money from the ATM. While at the ATM, the victim fled on foot and escaped. One of the suspects fired twice at the victim with a shotgun but missed. The victim was not injured.

The two suspects then left the scene in the victim’s black cherry Mazda CX-7, Florida tag 732-ITB. The men obtained the victim’s wallet, but no cash from the ATM.

Two similar incidents have occurred at the bank this month. The first occurred on June 5 at 9:40 p.m. when a victim was approached by an armed man and forced to withdraw an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect forced the victim to drive him to another location. The suspect then fled undetected. The victim was released unharmed.

The second incident occurred June 17 at 12:17 a.m. when an armed man ordered a victim at the ATM to withdraw money; however, the suspect fled when he was unable to obtain the victim’s currency.

One suspect is believed to have been involved in all three incidents, police said. He is described as a black male, 20-30 years old, between 5-feet-8-inches and 6-feet-1-inch tall, about 160-170 pounds, with a slender to medium build. He was last seen wearing a white, button-down, long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans and armed with an unknown make handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years old, between 5-feet-9-inches and 6-feet-1-inch tall, about 170-180 pounds, with a medium to large build. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve black shirt, blue pants, and a black stocking cap. He was armed with what appeared to be a shotgun. Both men have short hair, police said.
