Road Work to Close Bougainvillea Avenue Nov. 13

If you drive on Bougainvillea Avenue, you’ll have to avoid the section between 46th Street and McKinley Drive Nov. 13.

City of Tampa Wastewater crews will be repairing a cave-in located in the median in that area, which will be closed to traffic while the repair is in progress, a City of Tampa media release states.

The section borders the north side of Adventure Island, which is closed for the 2012 season.

According to the release, eastbound traffic will be detoured by turning right onto McKinley Drive, then left onto Linebaugh Avenue, and then left onto 46th Street to return to Bougainvillea Avenue.

Westbound traffic will be detoured by turning left onto 46th Street, then right onto Linebaugh Avenue, and then right onto McKinley Drive to return to Bougainvillea Avenue, the release states.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of the day Nov. 13.
