In this musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale,Β The Princess and the Pea, Princess Winnifred is put to the test by the conniving Queen Aggravain, who doesn't think any girl is good enough for her son, Prince Dauntless.Β

The Museum of Science & Industry, 4801 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa,Β kicks off Shark Week with a big chomp onΒ Saturday, Aug. 3Β fromΒ 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Β The celebration will continue throughout the week with the first 50 people of each day, Aug. 3-9, receiving free MOSI admission when they buy a ticket toΒ Sea Monsters Revealed.
OnΒ Saturday, Aug. 3Β and throughout the week, guests will be able to view real shark dissections in MOSIβs grand lobby. Additionally, Dr. Daniel Huber, shark expert, consultant for Discovery Channel and University of Tampa professor, will be at MOSI to speak about some of the myths and mysteries associated with these fascinating creatures.Β
Guests will be able to view the night sky over some of the worldβs most active great white shark feeding grounds inside The Saunders Planetarium, and build their own LEGO sharks inside MOSIβs inventorβs studio, Idea Zone.Β
For an additional fee, guests can experienceΒ Sea Monsters Revealed, where they will see not only the outside, but also the inside of the most elusive aquatic life ever discovered, including a 15-foot-long mako shark, a pregnant silky shark and an 18-foot-long, 3,000-pound whale shark. Ssshhh... It's a Silent Auction
Brenda Fruster Ministries will host a silent auction Saturday, Aug. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Temple Terrace Recreation Center, Classroom 3, 6610 Whiteway Dr., Temple Terrace. Up for auction will be tickets to amusement parks, gift certificates for local restaurants, designer shoes and handbags, and more. Refreshments will be available.
Sing Your Heart Out
Shamrock's Ale House, 7805 Temple Terrace Highway, Temple Terrace, hosts karaoke every Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
