Tampa’s Oktoberfest celebration kicks offΒ Oct. 11 at 4 p.m.Β in downtown’s Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. The three-day celebration features food, games, entertainment and beer – lots of beer. Check out the event’sΒ website for more details.

Free Bike Helmets at Amscot Locations

Here’s one for your calendar. Tampa Bay area Amscot Financial offices are teaming up with local law enforcement agencies to give away free bike helmets to kids onΒ Saturday, Oct. 19. The giveaway is for kids in pre-school through elementary school and takes place fromΒ 9 a.m. to noonΒ at several locations in the Bay area. Manilow Coming to Tampa

Music legend Barry Manilow has announced a Tampa stop on his upcoming 2013-14 tour. The β€œCopacabana” singer plans to bring his brand of music to the Tampa Bay Times ForumΒ Jan. 31.Β Check out his websiteΒ for all the details and ticket information.

Cooler Temperatures on the Way

Look for a slight cool down in temperatures as the workweek continues. Forecasters at the National Weather Service say highs will hover in the upper 80s, which is a tiny break from the solid 90s Tampa Bay has seen as of late.
