Winn-Dixie Celebrates Remodeled Thonotosassa Grocery, New Liquor Store

To celebrate the new and improved store with the community, Winn-Dixie will host a weekend-long celebration with live entertainment.

THONOTOSASSA, FL — Winn-Dixie officially unveiled its newly remodeled Thonotosassa store and new liquor store to the community Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store at 9535 E. Fowler Ave. in Thonotosassa.

In celebration of the new store, Winn-Dixie presented a $1,000 donation to Folsom Elementary School to support the school’s vital programs and future leaders of the community.

Over the past year, Winn-Dixie gathered feedback directly from customers and associates to
transform the Thonotosassa store into a shopping destination that is both convenient and attractive.

The refreshed store now offers an updated produce department, expanded deli department, a new liquor store and additional offerings.

On Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., there will be raffles for a $100 gift card every 30 minutes starting at 10 a.m., a special drawing at 1 p.m. for a chance to win a Traeger grill package, as well as live cooking demos by a local chef.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to take holiday photos with Santa from noon to 2 p.m.

The celebration continues Sunday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with prize wheel giveaways and a special raffle at 1 p.m. for a chance to win a YETI Tundra 75 Cooler and YETI accessories.

With fresh concepts and features, the Thonotosassa Winn-Dixie now includes:

  • New façade signage and a fresh, contemporary color palette and modern store signage inside.
  • An updated produce department featuring an expanded selection of fresh fruits, vegetables and convenient grab-and-go fresh selections for customers in a hurry.
  • An improved deli with expanded offerings including an assortment of easy lunch and dinner hot self-serve options varying daily, rotisserie chicken, a wing bar with several flavors, as well as prepared sandwiches and salads.
  • An improved bakery department with self-serve donuts and bagels and a wider selection of cakes, fresh breads and more.
  • A refreshed meat department offering a wide selection of fresh meats including certified Angus Beef® selections.
  • An expanded full-service seafood department offering shoppers a variety of fresh seafood on ice, additional frozen seafood assortments, as well as the “Seafood Made Easy” option where customers can choose the type of seafood, vegetables and seasoning to be packaged together for easy preparation at home.
  • An in-store pharmacy with expert pharmacists available to answer any questions regarding health and prescriptions and a new consultation room for comfortable, private immunizations, including the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • An updated health and beauty section with expanded offerings.
  • An updated floral department with bouquets for any occasion.
  • New self-checkout lanes to provide customers with an additional checkout option for added convenience.
  • An expanded grocery selection with additional products and assortments.
  • A new liquor store with a wide selection of spirits, as well as beer and wine offerings within the liquor store and main store.

The Thonotosassa store is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the new liquor store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Winn-Dixie now offers online shopping and delivery in as little as two hours. Customers can shop online through the Winn-Dixie website and app and receive the same promotions, savings and prices found in stores. Shop online this holiday season and receive $10 off orders of $50 or more with free delivery for a limited time.
