Zimmerman Not Guilty: Temple Terrace and Tampa Bay React
The verdict of not guilty was handed down late Saturday night.
After two days of deliberation, the jury in George Zimmerman’s second-degree murder trial came back with a not guilty verdict.
Zimmerman, 29, was on trial for the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17, in the Sanford area. The death and subsequent trail created racial tensions and raised questions about Florida’s Stand Your Ground law.
