More than a dozen Girl Scouts were awarded the organization's top honor recently. Nineteen young women recieved the Gold Award, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments in the areas of leadership, sustainable community service, career planning and personal development. The award banquet took place on June 5 at the Westshore Doubletree Hotel. Locally, Rachael Landes of Odess/Citrus Park was one of the recipients.
