Troopers Seek Information On Sept. 11 Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash Involving Pedestrian

TOWN N' COUNTRY, FL — Florida Highway Patrol troopers have recovered the car involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian.

The 2016 Nissan Sentra was recovered along the 9300 block of Memorial Highway near the site of Saturday's accident at Hillsborough Avenue and Reflections Club Drive.

At 8:27 on Saturday, a 67-New Port Richey woman was walking across the highway when he was struck. The driver fled the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she died.

The FHP urges businesses and neighbors to provide any information or video of activity involving the Nissan to help identify the driver. Those with information are asked to call the FHP at 813-558-1800 or *347 or contact Crime Stoppers at 800-873-TIPS.

Warning: This video contains disturbing images showing the victim being struck from behind as she walked along Hillsborough Avenue. The highway patrol released the video in the hopes that it will jog the memory of one of several drivers seen on the video passing through the area at the time of the crash. The name of the victim has not been released to protect her and her family's privacy.
