Did You Get A Ticket for Flashing Your Lights?

Most people consider it a courtesy when someone flashes their lights to indicate an impending speed trap.

But the Florida Highway Patrol doesn't see it that way.

Since 2005, more than 10,000 motorists have been ticketed by the patrol for flashing their lights, according to a law suit being filed by Eric Campbell, according to Channel 10 News.

Campbell flashed his lights on and off to warn drivers along the Veterans Highway and received a ticket. The trooper told him the practice was illegal.

Campbell says that's not the case, and has since filed a class action law suit against the state's highway patrol. In addition to seeking the refund of the $100 ticket, the lawsuit seeks damages in excess of $15,000, Channel 10 reports.
