Dr. Oz Visits Westfield Citrus Park Saturday
He's making an appearance during an event to raise awareness about breast and ovarian cancer.

Television’s Dr. Mehmet Oz is making a special appearance at Westfield Citrus Park this Saturday as the mall and Bright Pink team up to raise awareness about breast and ovarian health.
Dubbed VIPink, the all-day event features a Paul Mitchel Beauty Bar and ABC TV’s Emmy-award-winning Dr. Oz’s visit. The event is part of Bright Pink’s mission to reach women between the ages of 18 and 45 to share information about the importance of ovarian and breast health, the mall stated in a media release. Bright Pink is a nonprofit organization dedicated to tackling breast and ovarian cancer.
“A Bright Pink representative will be onsite to answer common questions about breast and ovarian cancer detection and education,” the release stated.

The day-long recognition includes a meet-and-greet, a live panel discussion and the beauty bar, which is a plush retreat where women can enjoy complimentary access to hair blowouts and styling, mini-makeovers, nail art, mini-facials and more.
“The VIPink is the perfect opportunity for moms, daughters and girlfriends to enjoy a weekend of pampering and shopping with fabulous discounts and special events, all while raising funds and critical awareness about the importance of early cancer detection and education for young women everywhere,” said Dawn Arvidson, marketing director for Westfield Citrus Park, was quoted in the release as saying.

In order to receive access to the Paul Mitchel Beauty Bar, shoppers need to donate at least $10 to Bright Pink. Once they do, they’ll also be entered into a drawing to win a weekend getaway worth more than $500. The first 100 guests will receive swag bags filled with shopping discounts, as well.
Tickets are available for purchase in advance or at the mall on March 21.
Entertainment is also scheduled throughout the day, including appearances by the Gaither High School varsity cheerleading squad.
