Fireworks: Where To Watch on the Fourth of July!

A list of fireworks not too far from home.

Hot dogs. Cold drinks. Fireworks. The trifecta of ingredients for a great Independence Day celebration. If you've got the first two nailed down, use this handy list to make sure your fireworks viewing experience is a pleasure. Some of our picks are official Fourth of July celebrations, others are places within Westchase that we at Patch know are good for catching a firework or two on the Fourth.

  1. Safety Harbor July 4th Celebration: This annual festivities and fireworks display is free and open to the public from 5pm-10:30pm. Where: Safety Harbor Marina Park, 110 Veterans Memorial Ln. Safety Harbor, Fl.
  2. West Park Village unofficial Fourth of July display: You know the big green stretch of land on Montague Avenue? From years experience we know it's a pretty good place to post up in a lawn chair on on a blanket and catch a firework or two from the backyards of people in the neighborhood. Fireworks usually start when the sun sets. Where: North Montague Street.
  3. Clearwater Celebrates America: The city’s annual fireworks display is centered at Coachman Park. It features the music, fireworks and plenty for the kids to do. Gates open at 4 p.m; fireworks starts at 9:30 p.m. Where: 301 Drew St. Clearwater, FL 33756.
  4. Channelside 2011 Fireworks Celebration: This marks the 10th year for this fireworks display, which includes music and festivities. No chairs allowed. Fireworks begin around 9pm. Where: Channelside, 615 Channelside Dr. Tampa, Fl.
