TOWN N' COUNTRY, FL — Two dogs are alive thanks to the refusal of Hillsborough County firefighters to give up on them when they were trapped in a town home fire Tuesday morning.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was called to the scene of a fire in the 6200 block of Oak Cluster Circle around 11:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke pouring out of the windows of the two-story attached town home and were told the resident was trapped inside.
Firefighters found the resident trapped on the second floor of the smoke-filled town home, and evacuated her through a second-floor window. One crew doused the blaze while another went back into the town home to rescue the resident's two pet dogs.
