Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On I-275 In Tampa

A 32-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday in a crash on southbound Interstate 75 just north of Memorial Highway.

TAMPA, FL — A 32-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday in a crash on southbound Interstate 75 just north of Memorial Highway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 12:25 a.m., the motorcyclist from Wauchula was riding south down the center lane of the interstate. In the inside lane next to him was a car driven by a 23-year-old St. Petersburg man.

The car’s driver struck the motorcyclist as he attempted to merge into the center lane. The impact from sent both vehicles into a guardrail.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured.
