Parenting Class for Divorcing Parents
The county is offering a course for parents involved in divorce or the custody process.

Hillsborough County Extension Service is offering classes for those who are going through a divorce and have children. The four-hour course is offered at 5339 CR 579 in Seffner and is required by the State of Florida when a child is involved in the divorce or custody process, and includes:
- Shared parenting and permanency of the parental role
- Child development stages and impacts of a divorce on children
- Communicating with your children
- Communicating with the other parent
- Child abuse /neglect and spouse abuse
- Legal concepts and community resources
- Families in transition
- Helping children understand and cope with divorce
The 2012 schedule for this year will be as follows: (you only have to attend one date) The class is offered on these dates from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

A Few Things To Know:
- Couples may only attend the same session with special permission.
- The cost of the class is $25 and includes a workbook.
- A sliding fee scale is available.
- Children are not permitted in the class.
- Participants must bring picture identification to class, such as a driver’s license.
- Participants can register online, or by email or phone.
- A certificate will be given at the end of class.
- Participants must arrive on time. Late arrivals may not be admitted
