Volunteer Here: Hillsborough Literacy Council Needs Mentors

An occasional spotlight of an organization that needs your help.

The Literacy Council is looking for mentoring tutors for a new expanded literacy program that began in April.

Mentors are assigned from three to five new tutors and provide advice, troubleshoot potential problems and just offer guidance. Mentors contact their tutors at least three times to check on progress and eventually are assigned another group of tutors.

If you have been tutoring for at least three months and are interested in serving as a mentor contact Juliet Douglas at: 813-273-3650 or go to the council's website.
