So you can't make it to all the games this week. We tell you the school and recreational matchups worth saving the date for.
With a new school year comes fall sports. With hectic schedules, it's easy to forget we have some great athletic talent in the Westchase area. Each week we'll bring you a few matchups that are sure to be worth your time.

Friday, Sept. 2, 7:30pm. (Final Score: Alonso, 25, Gaither, 14)
- Alonso Varsity Football at Gaither, 16200 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, 33618.
Why Go? After a win over Spoto last week, it'll be interesting to see how the Ravens fare against Gaither. Each wins means a lot to new coach Brian Emanuel, who is still in proving ground territory.

Friday, Sept. 2, 7:30pm. (Final Score: Sickles 10, Steinbrenner, 0)
- Sickles Varsity Football at Steinbrenner, 5575 West Lutz Lake Fern Road.
Why Go? Sickles has already come out of the gate strong this year with a defeat of Gaither during the Kickoff Classic. Steinbrenner has a lot to prove with its move to Class 7A, so it shouldn't be an easy win for Sickles by any means.

Why Go? It may be an away game, but with a veteran coach and enthusiastic team, the football team will be sure to come out in force at this season opener against Gaither, quality competitors in their own right. Whoever wins, it's sure to be just the show to whet your football appetite this season.
Saturday, Aug. 27, Early Game Times. (Pee Wee: Giants 18, Colts 0; Super Midgets: Colts 26, Giants 6; Midget: Giants 12, Colts 0; Varsity: Colts 14, Giants 0)
- Westchase Colts vs. Giants. Skyway Park, 3901 George Rd, Tampa, 33634. Pee Wee 8:30 a.m., Supers 10 a.m., Midget 11:30 a.m., and Varsity 1 p.m.
Why Go? The are a talented group. Three squads advanced to the Superbowl last year. That's saying a lot in a district with stiff competition and talent. Plus this game is a great chance to get some fresh air on a Saturday morning.
