3 Dead, 3 Injured In Wrong-Way GA Crash During Labor Day Weekend

A Nissan Rogue was going the wrong way on GA-73 and hit another vehicle head-on, leading to the deadly crash, the GSP said.

CLAXTON, GA — A deadly wrong-way crash Saturday afternoon in Evans County claimed the lives of three people and injured three others, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Post 18 Reidsville troopers responded around 1:30 p.m. to GA-73 near Caddie Green Road in Claxton. Details were limited Tuesday.

A Nissan Rogue was going south in the northbound lanes of GA-73 and hit head-on a Ford E350 that was heading north on GA-73, the GSP said.

Three people in the Nissan died at the scene, and a fourth person in the Nissan was taken to a Statesboro hospital by emergency medical personnel, the GSP said.

Two people in the Ford had serious injuries and were airlifted to Memorial Hospital in Savannah, the GSP said.
