4 Killed In GA Robbery ID'd; Teen In Custody

A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody after a Georgia shooting killed three men and a teenage boy.

DALTON, GA — Three men and a teenage boy were shot to death Saturday during a robbery at a Dalton park, and a 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody, Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood said Sunday at a news conference.

Whitfield County authorities said deputies responded around 11:15 p.m. to Pleasant Grove Park at Pleasant Grove Drive. Chitwood said multiple weapons were involved in the deadly shooting.

Those who were killed were identified by authorities as 21-year-old David Antonio Delgadillo of Dalton, 19-year-old Joshua Pedro Pelico-Pelico of Dalton, 18-year-old Robert Valencia of Rome and 17-year-old Daniel Segura-Cruz of Rome.

Chitwood did not identify the teenage suspect or list any possible charges against the suspect.

He said unspecified contraband was found in a vehicle at the scene. Chitwood added at least two of the victims may have been involved in the robbery.

The sheriff, who called the fatal shooting "very sad," said authorities do not believe the shooting was gang-related.
