The Cobb County Police Department has identified the motorcyclist killed Tuesday night when he struck a concrete retaining wall on Cheatham Road between Deer Valley Drive and Old Stilesboro Road in Acworth. Investigators suspect that excessive speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash that killed Scott Finnell, who apparently lost control of a black 2011 Harley Davidson Electra Glide while riding southbound on Cheatham Road at 10:31 p.m. Tuesday, said Sgt. Dana Pierce, spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. Finnell, 44, of Acworth, died at the scene. "Investigators believe that the driver exited the east side of the roadway and struck a concrete retaining wall before landing in the creek," Pierce said in a news release. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 770-499-3987.
