As gasoline price stays high and approaches $4 per gallon, some commuters may consider alternative ways to get to work.

According to data released by the U.S. Census, it takes Acworth residents an average 34 minutes to get to work. In Cobb County, it's not much better—29.7 minutes. And for many people, this commuting time adds up to gallons and gallons of gas at the pump each week.

Although the national average price fell by 1.7 cents to $3.92 per gallon since last week, it's still 7.8 cents higher than a year before, according to the Los Angeles Times.
