A man repeatedly slammed the head of his children's mother on the floor, caused her to temporarily blackout and ran from the woman's Marietta residence with their crying 3-year-old daughter in tow, police said.
About 11 a.m. July 3, Joshua Mulkey allegedly went to the woman's residence on Stewart Avenue and started a physical confrontation with her, according to an arrest warrant.
The woman was trying to call 911 when Mulkey allegedly grabbed her, according to the warrant.
"Accused grabbed her by the right upper arm leaving a large bruised area and the pushed her to the floor," Marietta police said. "The accused then began to slam the victims head into the hardwood floor causing her to temporarily blackout. The accused then grabbed the youngest child and fled the residence on foot."
All of this happened in front of the pair's three children.
Mulkey, by court order, has no right to see the 3-year-old girl other than at the residence while he is picking up or dropping off two older children, according to the warrant.
He was arrested July 3 on charges that include second-degree cruelty to children, third-degree cruelty to children, battery, interference with custody, and obstructing or hindering persons making an emergency telephone call. Mulkey, who has addresses in Acworth and Marietta, is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
Online jail records indicate that he was just released from the facility on June 26. He spent 14 days there on a probation violation.
