Construction begins on affordable housing complex's second phase in Albany (walb.com) — A new 40-unit phase of Dogwood Trail Apartments is now under construction in East Albany, bringing income-based, elevator-equipped housing specifically for residents 55 and older. Backed by the city, Albany Housing Authority, and GICH, the project will reserve several units for voucher holders and aims to ease rising housing costs for local seniors by early 2027.

3. Arctic Blast concludes tomorrow. (walb.com) — Albany is facing its coldest night of the season, with temperatures dropping into the low 20s and staying below freezing from around 8–9 p.m. through 9 a.m. Residents are urged to drip pipes, bring pets and plants inside, and bundle up if going out. Warmer 60s and 70s return later this week, with rain chances increasing Thursday into Friday.

Georgia gas price average decreases with drivers paying $2.76 per gallon (valdostatoday.com) — Albany drivers are currently seeing some of the cheapest gas in Georgia, with an average of $2.63 per gallon compared to the statewide $2.76. AAA says high oil supplies and easing demand should keep prices relatively low through the holidays, and offers tips to stretch your fuel budget and stay safe on the roads.
