ALPHARETTA, GA — There were no injuries in two Alpharetta fires that happened about three hours apart from each other Sunday afternoon, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety.

The first structure fire happened shortly after 4 p.m. near High Hampton Chase. Authorities said the initial responding fire crews found smoke and fire coming from the garage window of a home.

All residents safely escaped with no injuries, and firefighters contained the blaze to the garage.

"An uninvolved vehicle was in the garage at the time and sustained damages due to exposure to the heat," authorities said.

Members of the Alpharetta Fire Corps Volunteers assisted crews on scene with rehab and assisted units to get back into service.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

About three hours later, Alpharetta and Milton firefighters responded to a structure fire shortly after 7 p.m. at a Cumming Street home near Westside Parkway.

A minute-long Ring video the Department of Public Safety posted to Facebook shows crews arriving at the scene.

Authorities said the initial crews arrived to find smoke coming from the home. When they entered the home, they saw fire coming from the clothes dryer and nearby contents in a laundry room.

Crews were able to contain the fire to the laundry room and quickly extinguished it, authorities said.

All residents safely escaped the home without injuries.

"Teamwork and a quick response from all crews kept this fire from spreading and becoming a larger hazard," authorities said.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
