9 Retailers Plan GA Store Closures: Macy’s, Walgreens, Walmart Health

GEORGIA — Store closures surged across the country in 2024 as dozens of brands shut down brick-and-mortar locations, including many in Georgia.

Retail data provider CoreSight earlier this year noted a 24 percent increase in store closures over last year as the retail industry adjusts to a shift in consumer shopping to online outlets, inflation and bankruptcies.

Among the companies that announced it would shut close stores in Georgia this year are these nine well-known retailers:
