A resident’s Best of 2025 nomination praises the bureau’s positive “Awesome Alpharetta” promotions, which spotlight local shops, restaurants and activities that make it easy to entertain family and enjoy the city without traveling far.
   

2. Leader of Alpharetta firm accused in $300M Ponzi scheme pleads guilty (macon.com) — An executive tied to an Alpharetta-based investment firm has pleaded guilty to a federal fraud charge connected to an alleged multimillion-dollar Ponzi scheme, and now faces prison time, fines, and restitution. Prosecutors say the firm raised hundreds of millions from investors nationwide, including retirement funds, while falsely assuring them their money was safe. Alpharetta residents may want to review any past dealings with this company.
   

3. Milton clamps down on County Development Authority (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta residents may recognize Avalon in a new light as Milton’s City Council, citing that project’s large tax break, voted to require city approval before the Fulton County Development Authority can grant local property tax incentives. The move, enabled by recent state legislation, aims to keep decisions about big developments and abatements closer to home while Milton also advances park upgrades and zoning changes.
   

4. North Fulton communities participate in Wreaths Across America (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta volunteers with the Patriots of Liberty chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution helped honor veterans by placing 340 wreaths on graves across 10 North Fulton cemeteries during Wreaths Across America Day. They joined Roswell, Johns Creek and Milton residents, along with local businesses, in a coordinated effort to remember and thank those who served.
   

5. Man steals Milton mayor's car, eludes Sandy Springs police after crash (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Alpharetta police joined Milton, Roswell, and Sandy Springs officers in tracking down Milton Mayor Peyton Jamison’s stolen Jeep after it was taken from his driveway and later crashed during a Sandy Springs pursuit. While the suspect escaped on foot, the coordinated North Fulton police response recovered the vehicle and left no one injured, underscoring regional cooperation that also protects Alpharetta residents.
