Alpharetta Arts Center Opens To Public (PHOTOS)
A grand opening celebration was held Thursday at the building, which is the former Alpharetta public library on Canton Street.

ALPHARETTA, GA — Hundreds of people gathered at the former Alpharetta public library to celebrate the transformation of the facility in to the Alpharetta Arts Center.
The city held a ribbon cutting Thursday afternoon and open house to allow residents and community leaders and stakeholders to check out the space as well as some of the art work already on display at the facility at 238 Canton Street.
The Arts Center will feature multiple visual arts studios, clay studio, digital media studio, black-box theater studio, gallery exhibits and art events.

It will also provide a centrally located building for cultural arts classes, programs, exhibits, lectures and intimate performances, the city said. Throughout the month of October, the center will host select art work from Alpharetta and Milton artists in its new gallery.
