- Great news for Alpharetta — they are 1 of 15 agencies in the world to hold Triple Accreditation in emergency and non-emergency call taking. The accreditation process involves being re-accredited every two years and proving how the agency is meeting or exceeding the industry standards when it comes to policies, training, call taking, and dispatching! Therefore, "when you dial 9-1-1 within the cities of Alpharetta and Milton you are receiving the highest quality of care to ensure the right questions are being asked at the right time. Our accreditation helps to ensure that our callers are being met with the best response and instructions for their emergency!" (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
- Milton's holiday market, held at Milton City Hall last week, was a huge success. More than 30 vendors sold their goods, both inside and out. Approximately 100 shoppers braved the rain and purchased handmade items and treats. In addition, there were food trucks and tents. The market was organized by the same group who holds the Milton farmers market. (Appen)
- Alpharetta Police Capt. Michael Stewart was arrested and placed on administrative leave after an alleged domestic incident at his home. After an argument, he allegedly broke down a bedroom door where his wife was hiding and then left the residence. Stewart is a 19-year veteran of the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. (Appen)
- Edge Solutions of Alpharetta was recently defrauded by thieves posing as Fulton County School System employees. Using spoofed email accounts, they ordered laptops worth over $2 million over a three-month period. The thieves picked up the computers at Edge Solution’s warehouse in Alpharetta. "In an email statement to Appen Media, Julie Haley, Edge Solutions chief executive officer, promised the company’s clients that no customer data has been exposed by the incident. “Edge Solutions recently fell victim to a sophisticated fraud scheme involving criminals posing as legitimate customers,” Haley said. “While the case is ongoing and law enforcement agencies have requested us not to discuss details of the investigation, we want to assure our customers that this theft involved only computer hardware and no customer data was lost or breached during this crime.” (Appen)
