Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:
- Alpharetta residents can safely dispose of their paint and other hazardous waste at an upcoming event. You can register until Nov. 4; you will receive full details after registration, including the location. This event occurs only twice per year so make sure to sign up if you're interested! (City of Alpharetta)
- Fall Fest will take place this Sunday, Oct. 30, at North Point Church, located at 4350 North Point Parkway in Alpharetta. Wear your costumes and enjoy games, music, food trucks and hot apple cider! There are activities in the morning and afternoon for different age groups and all are welcome! (North Point)
- Charlotte Landy of Alpharetta has been sentenced to 8 years by a Fulton County jury because her dogs mauled two Alpharetta brothers. The boys were attacked in May of 2021 and each one had to get over 200 stiches. They were rescued by neighbors who heard the attack and were also injured. (WSB Atlanta)
- Milton's veterans will be honored at the annual Veterans Breakfast next week. All former members of U.S. Armed Forces are invited, along with their families, to this event. It will take place on Nov. 5 at Milton Council Chambers at 2006 Heritage Walk. - Kudos to Milton's Ken Sisson, who will inducted to the City of Milton's Wall of Fame. He has been instrumental in developing Bell Park's athletic complex and was named Volunteer of the year. The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. and there will be a "jamboree" afterwards. (City of Milton)
- The Milton Police Department enjoyed some sweet treats this week. Nothing Bundt Cakes dropped off some of their delicious pastries. In addition, Kass Wilson brought by some homemade treats. (Milton Police Department via Facebook)
- There have been numerous robberies at the Perimeter Mall, and officers are asking the public to help locate the suspects. Officials say they are on the hunt for 19-year-old Devon Cottom, 20-year-old Junior Swen, and two unidentified associates.
