Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. It's time for Alpharetta residents to clean out your garages and dispose of paint and other hazardous waste. The city is offering a one-day collection event on Nov. 12. Many types of materials will be accepted, and registration is required prior to that day. (City of Alpharetta)
  2. Negotiations are continuing between Fulton County and all 15 cities for allocating Local Option Sales Tax dollars. "The County countered with a proposal that demanded $550 million — a $341 million, or 163 percent, increase over what the County would collect under the existing agreement." Increasing the tax revenue allocation to Fulton County could result in higher property taxes in our area plus reduced services. (City of Milton)
  3. The City of Milton has increased starting pay for police officers. The raises are similar to ones being made in other police departments in our area. Milton is considered one of the safest cities in Georgia. Their police officers have great benefits and are embraced by the community. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
