- According to Nomad, Alpharetta is the best place to live in Georgia! The article highlights Alpharetta's schools and low crime rate. In addition, Alpharetta's art, music and entertainment options are mentioned. (Nomad)
- The Milton’s Citizen Government Academy (CGA) started its newest classes earlier this week. Students learned about the history of Milton, government structure and functions. The Academy shares valuable information on all areas of Milton's government. This year's class will run for eight weeks, and takes place at "City Hall, Fire Station 44, Police headquarters, and the Community Center at Milton City Park and Preserve." - There might soon be a new car wash in Alpharetta. Foamworks, which currently has five other locations in Georgia, is interested in opening a car wash at 11725 Cotton Creek. This location used to have an Autobell Car Wash. Foamworks provides exterior detailing, automated wash in a tunnel, and customers can complete interior detailing. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)

- Kudos to Aarish Mukherjee, a 3rd grader at Birmingham Falls Elementary school. He came in second place at the Fulton County Schools Technology Competition in Robotics! The competition is a regional event where students in grades 3-12 enter technology projects. (Birmingham Falls Elementary School via Facebook)
- The St. James United Methodist Church at 3000 Webb Bridge Road in Alpharetta has "Free Food Saturday" today. This occurs on the last Saturday of every month on a first come first served basis. While supplies last, each family "will receive a box with a great selection of items. Drive up times are 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m." (St. James UMC)
- Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency in downtown Atlanta until Feb. 9 due to protests. In addition, he activated 1,000 National Guard troops to that region. The protests are following a shooting near the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center. A protestor was shot and killed there, and a Georgia state trooper was shot and injured. (CBS News)
