  1. As of yesterday, Alpharetta police were continuing to search for the individual who shot a man multiple times at the QuikTrip off Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta. The shooting occurred at 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning and the man had been shot inside a car. The victim is 48 years old and police treated him until paramedics showed up. He is stable and the shooter had already left when police arrived at the scene. (WSB TV)
  2. The Cumming woman who is accused of leaving her newborn child in a plastic bag has been denied bond. Karima Jiwani has been charged with numerous crimes including reckless abandonment. The baby was found in June of 2019 by a family who heard her crying. She survived and is now 4 years old. Under Georgia law, a mother can legally leave her baby at a police station, fire station or hospital if the child is less than 30 days old. (11 Alive)
  3. Police recently arrested three individuals who were driving over 90 miles per hour on McGinnis Ferry Road in Johns Creek near Brookwood Way. After crashing the car, four people jumped out of the car and ran away. The car had been stolen, and the suspects "had multiple credit cards and a gun with questionable serial number issues." The three suspects who were caught gave the name of the fourth suspect to police. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. Are you planning a wedding or other special event? Milton City Council has approved allowing Sometheme Weddings and Events to host weddings and events on the third floor of 3100 Heritage Walk in Crabapple. There can be only event per day there, with fewer than 150 people. The hours will be between 7 a.m.-10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.   • There will be a Juneteenth Father’s Day Recognition event this Saturday at Antico Pizza Avalon, located at 3185 Avalon Blvd. in Alpharetta. It will take place between noon and 2 p.m. Speakers will include Alpharetta's Mayor Jim Gilvin, Pastor Gregory Williams and other dignitaries. Please stop by! (Awesome Alpharetta)
  • Did you know that 70 percent of the drinking water in our area comes from the Chattahoochee River? If you're walking your dog in the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area, make sure to pick up after your dog to prevent pet waste from getting in the water. The park has 37 dog waste stations around to make it easy to dispose of it. (WSB)
  • Mark your calendars for Alpharetta's July 4th celebration at Wills Park, located at 11925 Wills Road. Fireworks will start at dusk, which is approximately 9:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to bring blankets and enjoy the show. (City of Alpharetta GA via Facebook)
