Alpharetta Public Safety Citizens Academy Starts Jan. 17
The class provides first-hand experience on various aspects of police, fire, EMS and 911 operations in Alpharetta.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The 10th annual Alpharetta Department of Public Safety Citizens Academy is now accepting applications for its classes that will begin in January.
This free program will feature sessions on topics, with discussion and demonstrations led by experts. Of course, this will not just be a series of boring classroom lectures; be prepared to dress out in gear and get first-hand experience by participating in supervised scenarios.
Some of the classes that will be taught are High Risk Traffic Stops, Response to Active Shooter, Structural Fire Control, Emergency Auto Extrication, Firearms Training Simulator, Police K-9 and much more.

Classes will be held Thursday evening and some Saturdays from Jan. 17 to April 25. This year's graduation banquet will be held at Smokejack BBQ in Alpharetta.
