Here are the top stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. Mark your calendars for Alpharetta's Restaurant Week; it starts tomorrow and will run through March 4. This is a great time to try a new place or visit some your favorite ones! Many establishments will have a special dinner menu at a fixed price, and some will have lunch. This link lists all participating restaurants and special offers. (Awesome Alpharetta)
  2. Students at Milton's Citizens Government Academy's class learned about Public Works this week. This department takes care of infrastructure, transportation, bridges and much more. For example, they work on traffic signals, potholes and tracking erosion.
More information on Milton's Public Works Department can be found here https://www.miltonga.gov/government/public-works. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  3. There is a new primary care practice in our area, located inside the Johns Creek Walgreens on Kimball Bridge Road. Village Medical Center had its ribbon- cutting this week, and Rep. Lucy McBath (D-Georgia) was in attendance, as well as Johns Creek Mayor John Bradberry.
“The great thing about Village Medical is it’s another great business that is in line with Johns Creek’s strategic core economic development mission, which is to be a center for health, innovation and wellness,” Bradberry said during his remarks. (The Atlanta Voice)
  4. Home by Dark concert goers will benefit from some enhancements and repairs scheduled for Alpharetta's Union Hill Park. It will have electrical repairs/improvements and over $3 million in renovations. This park is also used for other types of events. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  5. Motorists are encouraged to avoid driving north on State Route 9 in Alpharetta between North Broad Street and Church Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. due to construction. One lane will be closed during this time due to work on a gas main. Drivers need to go slow and watch out for workers. (Press Release Desk)
