  1. Alpharetta's city council has awarded a five-year contract to United Towing for wrecking services. The decision comes after reviewing three different proposals for towing companies, with United Towing receiving the highest proposal rating. Factors in the assessment included storage lot location and security, driver expertise and dependability, and equipment and vehicle availability. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  2. The City of Milton expressed appreciation for those who provided feedback on the previously-reported Bethany Bend and Highway 9 intersection change and shared some points of clarification. Many users expressed concern regarding the timing of the lights, which the City reports it will monitor and adjust as needed. Officials also added that the "no-right-turn-on-red" change will only be in place until the Georgia Department of Transportation makes broader improvements to Highway 9, though this work is not expected for at least another year. 3. The Alpharetta Chamber of Commerce invites the community to join in its next Coffee & Commerce: Start Grow Thrive event. Kathy Plisko, Area Director of the University of Georgia's Small Business Development Center, will be the guest speaker and discuss how local entrepreneurs can elevate their businesses.
