  1. Join us at Milton's annual Arbor Day Celebration; it takes place this Friday at Milton City Park and Preserve starting at 3:30 p.m. You'll help plant trees, make pine-cone bird feeders with peanut butter, enjoy refreshments and pick up an oak seedling to plant in your yard. The event is free for all and no registration is required. (City of Milton)
  2. Would your child enjoy taking an art class on Celebrating Black Artists? Students will be painting, creating collages and a self-portrait. It takes place on Feb. 20, which is a school holiday at the Alpharetta Arts Center, and is for ages 5-12. You can register at https://bit.ly/CelebratingBlackArtists. (City of Alpharetta)
  3. Citizens are invited to attend Milton's State of the City presentation, which is tonight at City Hall. It starts at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be served. Mayor Peyton Jamison will present "State of the City" remarks about an hour later. All area welcome and there is no cost; you can sign up by emailing rsvp@miltonga.gov and telling how many are in your party.

  • Most lightning injuries and deaths occur when people are taking part in outdoor activities. If you see lightning or hear thunder, you need to go inside or into a hard top car right away. Wait at least 30 minutes before going back outside. Learn more here: weather.gov/safety/lightning (City of Alpharetta)
  • A good time was had by all at last weekend's Alpharetta Family Valentine's Dance. It took place at the The Alpharetta Community Center, which was decorated as an enchanted forest.
