- Great news for Alpharetta and Milton residents: the 29 cents Georgia gas tax suspension will remain in effect through Oct 12. The suspension has been in effect since March and will help many residents during Labor Day weekend. Georgia motorists still pay a federal gas tax of 18 cents per gallon. (East Cobb News)
- Interested in learning more about real estates and restaurants in Milton? The city, along with other cities in Georgia, will be featured on “The American Dream,” a television program showcasing the real estate and lifestyle of select communities. - Milton athletes can enjoy Legacy Park off Cox Road, which was recently upgraded and renamed through a months-long project. Two large grass fields and a pair of multi-sport turf fields were transformed, and fencing was added. There is also a new wheelchair-accessible sidewalk leading to the second lower field. - The Rotary Club of Alpharetta is sponsoring a free concert starting at 6 p.m. at Town Square opposite City Hall. The band is the Brotherhood, and they are a Doobie Brothers tribute band. (Rotary Club Concert Series)
- Home by Dark in Alpharetta's Union Hill Park, 1590 Little Pine Trail, will have a concert starting at 7:30 p.m. This concert will provide a premium musical experience under a covered pavilion. - Check out the newly built arena at the Wills Park Equestrian Center in Alpharetta. It's now open and there will be an opening celebration Friday, Sept. 16 at 5 pm. The event will include live music, facility tours, and food trucks. (City of Alpharetta Recreation)
- The City of Alpharetta is currently looking to fill a position for a municipal judge. It is a contract position appointed by the Mayor and City Council. It presides over a variety of hearings and trials related to criminal and civil cases and imposes appropriate sentences and penalties. Qualified individuals are encouraged to apply for the position.
(City of Alpharetta) - There will be a book sale at Alpharetta Library located at 10 Park Plaza this Saturday, Sept. 3. The sale will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and will include incredible deals on all types of books, including childrens. This sale is just in time for the upcoming long weekend.
