  1. Glass recycling returns on Sept. 12 in Alpharetta. Residents can use a new center
located in the parking lot of the Alpharetta Department of Public Works located at 1790 Hembree Road. Only glass can be dropped off there; other recyclables and trash will not be accepted. The new Alpharetta glass recycling site will be available to Alpharetta residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since it's unstaffed, security cameras and license plate readers on site will enable the city to identify those who improperly dispose of items. Violators will be cited, and the city intends to seek the maximum penalties allowed by law. (City of Alpharetta)
  2. Alpharetta's Wire & Wood festival has announced the full lineup of artists. It will take place on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7 and 8 in downtown Alpharetta 5-11 p.m. The popular free admission festival will host 34 performances on six outdoor stages. (Awesome Alpharetta)
  3. Alpharetta has extended the deadline to sign up for the 17th annual Scarecrow Harvest to Tuesday, Sept. 13. The downtown area will overflow with more than 150 scarecrows from local schools and classrooms, nonprofits, neighborhoods, families, and local businesses! Click to begin your Scarecrow Application. The displays will be open from Oct. 3 – Nov. 1
and the scarecrow with the most "Selfie Votes" will win the People's Choice Award! (City of Alpharetta)
