Avalon Celebrates Holidays With Ice Skating, Tree Lighting Events

ATLANTA, GA – Once again, Avalon, the 86-acre mixed-use community in Alpharetta, will be North Fulton’s gathering place for the holiday season, offering memorable experiences on the ice skating rink, precious moments with Santa, and a magical tree lighting celebration. The holiday season at Avalon is presented by Northside Hospital.

“For the third season, Avalon will transform into a delightful holiday destination, with twinkling lights, the grand Christmas tree, ice skating, wood burning fires and more,” said Carla Toro, director of marketing at Avalon. “We take great pride in creating meaningful experiences for our guests, and we can’t wait to welcome the community for this year’s holiday season!”

The holiday season at Avalon kicks off on November 20. A full list of events is as follows:

• The Lighting of Avalon: Avalon’s annual tree lighting celebration will take place on Nov. 20 from 1 to 8 p.m. The free community event that attracts thousands of Atlantans will feature festive music, family activities, live performances, fireworks and even Santa’s reindeer. Avalon’s 40-foot Christmas tree will have a new home this year, atop Avalon’s world-class Concierge. Don’t miss the culmination of festivities at sunset, where Santa will arrive to light the tree and officially kick off the most wonderful time of the year!

• Santa at Avalon: Santa will arrive during the Lighting of Avalon, and will take up residence in Santa’s whimsical cottage between Oak Steakhouse and Colletta beginning Nov. 21 through Christmas Eve. Avalon is known for its unique hi-tech Santa experience, which uses RFID technology and an iPad within “Santa’s Book” to personalize each child’s visit with Old St. Nick. Parents have the opportunity to share their child’s name, age and Christmas wishes in advance, so Santa can surprise even the most skeptical kids. Remember the magical moment with professional photos available for purchase. A visit with Saint Nick is free, but a reservation is recommended.
