Here are the top stories in Alpharetta-Milton today:

  1. Milton City Council voted on issues regarding traffic "calming measures" earlier this week. The new rules are as follows: if a subdivision requests a permanent radar sign or speed table, at least two thirds of the subdivision's residents must approve them. The City won't pay for any portion of those new measures. In the past, there was cost sharing between subdivisions and the City. However, the city will continue to implement traffic safety measures such as warning signs and enforcing speed violations. (City of Milton)
  2. Milton Police are asking for the public's help identifying an individual. He was walking near Glencreek Way, which is where a resident recently had a mailbox stolen. The police want to find out additional information on the thefts. Please contact Det. Scott Harrell at scott.harrell@miltonga.gov if you know the identity of this person. (City of Milton)
  3. If you are planning to take MARTA later this month, please note they will be replacing the red line tracks south of the Medical Center Station soon. From Feb. 17 to Feb. 22, that section of the red line will be shut down, and riders can use bus shuttles. Red line service will resume on Feb. 23 with a less frequent schedule through Feb. 25, and regular service will be restored on Feb. 26. (MARTA)
