Canton Health-Care Worker Stole $17K From Alpharetta Patient: Sheriff
The woman was accused of using the patient's credit and debit cards to buy jewelry, pay rent and make down payments on her car.
ALPHARETTA, GA — A 48-year-old home health-care worker accused of stealing more than $17,000 from her 77-year-old patient was arrested Wednesday, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said Thursday Ebony Mitchell first began stealing money from her patient in February. The patient lives at a Wrights Mill Court home in Alpharetta in unincorporated Cherokee County.
Authorities said Mitchell used the patient's credit and debit cards to buy jewelry, pay rent and make down payments on her car.

She was charged on suspicion of six counts of felony exploitation and intimidation of disabled adult, elder person. She was arrested Wednesday and released on a $16,878 bond.
