- A child was riding her bicycle in the Deerfield area of Milton when a white male wearing a ski mask drove by her in a black sedan and asked her where her friends were. He appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s. The child ignored him and rode her bike home. Milton Police are investigating this incident and have increased patrolling in that area. If you have any information, please contact 9-1-1 or email Lt. Christopher Ward directly at Christopher.Ward@miltonga.gov. (Milton Police Department via Facebook)
- A scammer is making phone calls in our area and pretending to be an Alpharetta Police Officer. During the calls, they are telling people that there is an outstanding arrest and asking for money via gift cards. The Alpharetta Police never ask for money over the phone. In addition, do not share any personal information with someone who calls you. If you get a call and want to make sure it is legitimate, please call the police non-emergency line at 678-297-6300x1 or visit the lobby at 2565 Old Milton Parkway. (Alpharetta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
- A recent community meeting to discuss plans for the area around Windward Parkway and Highway 9 was productive. About 100 citizens attended and learned about the project and interacted with members of the project team. They gave feedback based on maps and other information that was provided. - A resident of Atrium apartments in Johns Creek contacted police because suspects broke into the package area at his complex and allegedly stole a Samsung TV worth $325. When he went to pick up the TV, he noticed that the security door had been forced open. Security tapes show two individuals breaking into the room and taking several items including the TV set. (Appen Media)
- As part of the summer reading program, the Milton Library is hosting an event with Karen Strong, who writes books for middle-grade and young-adults. It will take place on June 2 from 3-4 p.m. She will discuss her newest book, which is "Eden's Everdark." Registration is required and there will be free copies while supplies last. (Milton Library)
