Christmas In Crabapple On Dec. 1 In Milton (UPDATED)

The city of Milton and the Crabapple Community Association will host the celebration at Milton City Hall.

MILTON, GA — The city of Milton will usher in the holiday season with a celebration planned for Saturday, Dec. 1. Milton and the Crabapple Community Association are teaming up to bring the 10th annual Christmas in Crabapple celebration to the community.

Due to the expected rain in the forecast, this year's event will be held 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Milton City Hall.

The main event — children's activities, caroling by the Milton High School chorus, hot cocoa, and Santa photos — will move forward; however, the official tree lighting that evening must be canceled. While the kiddos enjoy crafts, adults are invited to participate in "Cocoa with a Cop" as the Milton Police Department will be on hand to share in the fun and answer any questions residents might have.

Families are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to Christmas in Crabapple to donate to the North Fulton Community Charities. A donation box will be available at Crabapple Cottage next to Broadwell Pavilion or families can leave their unwrapped toy at City Hall.

"Rain may be in the forecast, but nothing will dampen our holiday spirits," said Community Outreach and Engagement Manager Courtney Spriggs. "This is always a heavily anticipated event for our residents, and we're happy that we have such a great City Hall space to help us in the event of rain."

In addition to this weekend's events, Chabad of North Fulton will host Chanukah in Milton at Broadwell Pavilion from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. This community organized event includes a menorah lighting, Chanukah snacks, kids' entertainment, and music. Everyone in Milton is invited to attend the event.

Please note that parking is limited at Broadwell Pavilion. Attendees can park across the street, or at the City Hall parking lot and walk over to the pavilion.

Following these downtown Milton events, Santa makes his final trip to Milton on Saturday, Dec. 8 before heading back to the North Pole. The Milton Fire-Rescue Department will host Santa and Milton families for a special pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. at Station 43, located at 750 Hickory Flat Road. Families are also welcome to bring an unwrapped toy to donate at this event as well.

"Hosting our families and cooking breakfast each year is always a treat for us," said Chief Robert Edgar with the Milton Fire-Rescue Department. "Serving the community and collecting toys for those who are less fortunate, well, what better way to get in the Christmas spirit."
