Here are the top stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. Improvements are being planned along Cox Road in Milton, including intersections with "State Route 140/Arnold Mill Road, Ebenezer/Etris roads and King Road — as well as driveways to the Porter Academy, Ebenezer Methodist Church and Legacy Park." Citizens attended an information session and gave their feedback to the project team last weekend.   2. A Roswell woman was stabbed near her home on May 6. She was in her breezeway when an unknown man pushed her into the wall and stabbed her in the stomach, causing a small laceration. She thinks that he lives in her housing complex. Police brought her to the hospital and are investigating the stabbing. (Appen)
  3. Mill Springs Academy in Milton was recently scammed out of over $244,000. An employee received an email from that appeared to be from Sluss and Padgett and paid it. Later the employee spoke with someone from the company and determined that the invoice was fraudulent. (Appen)
  4. Are you interested in volunteering to make flower arrangements? The Alpharetta Community Agriculture Community needs volunteers to harvest greenery and make flower arrangements on Thursdays. They are brought to the food bank at North Fulton Community Charities to make people happy.   • Check out the Milton Library's Book sale in the Book Barn today from 1-5:30 p.m. They have over 10,000 books to choose from including youth, adult, paperback and hard cover.   • Birmingham Falls Elementary School fifth grade students are enjoying their last week of elementary school.   • The City of Alpharetta wants to make sure your pets are safe from overheating during the summer. Make sure they have plenty of water and look for signs of overheating. The signs include excessive panting, difficult breathing and vomiting. The types of animals that are at greater risk of overheating include young, elderly, overweight, dark colored and animals with short muzzles. (City of Alpharetta)
