- Milton's Cox Road will be getting a much-needed upgrade thanks to funds from TSPLOST II. Plans are underway to improve traffic flow and safety for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists. Affected areas are at GA 140/Arnold Mill Road, Etris/Ebenezer roads and King Road. Seventy-five percent of the funding will come from Milton, and the rest will be from Roswell. - The bridge over GA 400 on Kimball Bridge Road in Alpharetta is being demolished; this project started on May 30 and will take 4-6 weeks to complete. The demolition is part of the project to replace the current bridge with a new one that allows for additional lanes on GA 400. When completed, the new bridge will have "two vehicular travel lanes in each direction, a center median, wide sidewalks on both sides, improved lighting, and decorative elements." Details on this project can be found at https://0001757-gdot.hub.arcgis.com/ (City of Alpharetta GA via Facebook)
- Good news for our area: Boston Scientific, a biomedical and biotechnology engineering firm headquartered in Massachusetts, is adding more than 300 jobs to a location in Johns Creek. The new building will house manufacturing and supply chain and will replace the former State Farm campus on nearby Johns Creek Parkway. The move to the Atlanta area will take place over seven years and will increase the company's GA workforce to approximately 650. (The Atlanta Voice)
- Mark your calendars for June 13, when the “Rockin’ the Runway” fashion show fundraiser for The Drake House will take place. It starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center, 1 Galambos Way. The proceeds will help mothers and their children who are experiencing homelessness in our area.
