Crabapple Fest Returns Oct. 6 In Milton

MILTON, GA -- Organizers are in the midst of ensuring the annual Crabapple Fest goes off without any hiccups. The annual festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 in Milton's Crabapple community.

This fall festival, put on by the city of Milton and the Crabapple Community Association, is expected to attract 30,000 attendees who will enjoy antiques and arts by juried vendors, local food and drinks, children's activities and, of course, college football on the big screen.

Parking and attendance are free. Parking is available at Crabapple First Baptist Church, Crabapple Crossing Elementary School, and Milton High School. A courtesy shuttle will run throughout the day from Crabapple First Baptist Church. City officials want to remind festival attendees that parking along the roads in surrounding neighborhoods or in the Crabapple Market parking lot is strictly prohibited.

"Festival attendees can shop and dine with our unique festival vendors as well as take advantage of the great dining and shopping options located in downtown Milton," said Courtney Spriggs, Milton's community outreach and engagement manager. "We'll have all the hottest college football games on the big screen and a fun-filled children's area."

A portion of Crabapple Road will be closed from the Crabapple crossroads intersection of Birmingham Hwy and Broadwell Road down to Itaska Walk. Motorists should follow detour signs. The festival road section will officially close at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 and will remain closed until 10 p.m. Oct. 6. In addition to portable restrooms, the public bathrooms at Broadwell Pavilion and on The Plaza at City Hall will be open for use.
