• Officer nearly hit by alleged wrong-way driver along Alpharetta road (wsbtv.com) — An Alpharetta police officer narrowly avoided being hit by a wrong-way driver near Cumming Street and Henderson Parkway, leading to the driver’s arrest on DUI and other charges. The man was also wanted on felony warrants from Gwinnett County. Police are using the close call to urge Alpharetta drivers to plan safe, sober rides during the holidays.

• Donation from Arts Alpharetta gives students artistic escape (appenmedia.com) — Alpharetta students at Summit and Dolvin elementary schools are getting new art supply boxes from local nonprofit Arts Alpharetta to help them cope with stress and big emotions. • American Cancer Society's ‘Road to Recovery' program needs more volunteer drivers (atlantanewsfirst.com) — An Alpharetta cancer survivor is sharing how the American Cancer Society’s free “Road to Recovery” rides helped her reach frequent treatments when she couldn’t drive herself. The program has already provided thousands of rides statewide this year but is turning away many more requests, and is urgently seeking additional volunteer drivers to keep patients’ care on track.
