- Alpharetta firefighters came to the rescue last week after a dump truck traveling north on 400 accidentally dumped a load of red clay dirt on the highway. This created a dangerous driving situation, as the road was already slippery due to rain. Crews from Engine 85 and Quinty 83 helped to remove the dirt and cleaned the road to make is safe for drivers. (City of Alpharetta)
- The Alpharetta Rotary Club is holding their Annual Polar Bear Plunge Fundraiser this Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Wills Park Pool in Alpharetta. Proceeds will be used to support programs in our area for those who are less fortunate. The BrewAble team is looking for members; you can jump or simply make a donation. - Soon, there will be 200 new IT jobs in Roswell. SK Battery, an electric vehicle battery manufacturer based in South Korea, will be opening a new IT center there. The facility will be at 1110 Sanctuary Parkway. The company will be hiring IT experts to manage battery manufacturing operations. - US Marshalls arrested a convicted sex offender in Atlanta after searching for him for 17 years. Gustav Schilling was caught near a construction site near Lindbergh Drive and Armand Road. Schilling was convicted of attempted rape in 1995, went to prison, and was released in 2000. He disappeared in 2006 and was using an alias name. (FOX 5 Atlanta)

- The Milton Fire Department has had to put out several brush fires recently. No one was injured and there wasn't any property damage. Here are some tips to make sure brush fires don't become dangerous. Make sure fires are at least 50 feet away from anything flammable, including buildings, and forests. Burn during daylight and be prepared with water plus tools in case things get out of hand. (City of Milton)
- There will be an artist's market this week at the Trinity School, located at 4301 Northside Parkway NW in Atlanta. The Spotlight on Art Artists Market, with free parking and admission, will have pieces from over 350 artists. Tonight is Opening Night and there will be complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres. - Six Bridges Brewing in Crabapple, located at 1850 Heritage Walk in Milton, has neighbor nights on Mondays.
